Creating DXF Files

1. The item must be digitized first before creating the dxf file.

2. After digitizing, click the Create File button to create the dxf file.

3. The prompt for the filename appears:

4. Input the filename, you do not need to input the .dxf extension, it will be automatically added.

5. The default folder is data folder in the main program folder (usually c:\Program Files\The Logic Group\Logic Trace CNC DXF\data). Click the Change button to change the folder for the DXF file.

6. After inputting the filename and optionally changing the folder, click OK to create the file. A message window will appear when the file has been successfully saved.

7. The Logic Trace software creates a condensed DXF file with only the entities digitized. A few of our clients have troubles reading these small dxf files. If you have troubles reading the DXF files try loading the DXF file into a CAD reading program and then saving the DXF file and then loading the saved file from the CAD program. Many CAD readers are available on the internet for free or under $100. The one we recommend is Cad Standard Lite at www.cadstd.com.

8. If you have digitized multiple items, each will be saved as a seperate layer in the dxf file.
