Installing Digitizer & Drivers

1. The Logic Trace software can be used WITH or WITHOUT the Wintab/Tabletworks windows drivers. Since the installation is easier with the Wintab driver, try that method first. Also it is very important that the wintab button is checked in the Tabletworks Control Panel (steps 6 and 7 below)

Rollup 3, GTCO Super L6, and GTCO Accutab 6 digitizers:

2. Before connecting the digitizer to the computer, install the wintab/tabletworks driver on the computer. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive on your computer. The installer will
autoload. If it doesn’t, click on the Start button on the Windows Task Bar and select Run from the menu. Type X:\setup.exe (X represents the CD drive letter). Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation. A TabletWorks icon will display in the System Tray on the Windows Task Bar. Right-click on the icon to display the TabletWorks Menu, which provides access to all the TabletWorks features.

3. You can also download the driver from the GTCO website at www.gtcocalcomp.com. We also provide the driver on the Logic Trace CNC DXF CD.

4. Connect the USB cable into the digitizer and then into the computer. The digitizer should beep 4 times indicating it has power. No power supply is needed, getting power from the computer via the USB cable. Some laptop computers do not provide the proper power through the USB, contact our office for the power adapter for the digitizer if needed.

5. The digitizer can also be connecting through a serial cable. Connect the power supply to the digitizer and the serial cable to the digitizer and then to the computer.

6. On the digitizer, digitize the S button (on the Accutab it is the A button), the 0 button and the 1 button to configure the digitizer. On the Rollup digitize the 90 degree arrow button in the lower left corner to properly orient the digitizer.

7. After connecting the usb or serial cable, start the Tabletworks control panel by clicking the Tabletworks icon on the lower right corner of windows or clicking Windows Start, Programs, Tabletworks, Tabletworks.

8. The digitizer should be listed under the tablet model. If the wintab button at the top of the screen is not checked, click to check it. Click Apply and close this screen. The digitizer and driver should be ready to use. When the cursor or pen stylus is moved on the digitizer, it should move the mouse pointer on the screen.

9. Test the digitizer by starting the Logic Trace software, click Digitize New, Click the Setup Menu, Tablet Setup. The driver should be set for Wintab Any Manufacturer, click the digitizer size, click install, click test XY, digitize a point on the digitizer. You shoule get a point such as x=xxxxx, y=yyyyy.

9. If you do not get a point, try turning the digitizer off and on, rebootting the computer, and the run the test again.

For installation instructions for other digitizers, contact out office.
