Setting the Scale

(Optional)

1. Most items digitized in the Logic Trace software will be scaled 1 to 1, the default scale of the program and setting the scale can be skipped. However a few items may want to have the scale changed, ie made larger or smaller.

2. To change the scale, click the Scale button on the left menu to set the scale.

2. The scale options will appear in the top digitizing window.

3. The scale can be input from the keyboard or calculated from the digitizing tablet. To change the scale, click keyboard and input the new scale, eg 2 in/in or 1.1 in/in or 10 cm/cm. You can also have different scales in both the x and y direction (a very rarely used option of the software).

4. Occasionally users will want to calculate a scale from the drawing on the digitizer. For example a picture is going to be digitized and a known distance is in the picture such as the height of a chair or width of the drawing. In this case, click to input the scale from the Tablet, digitize two points of the drawing, input the distance the two points are apart and the programs calculates the actual scale.

5. If using metric units, click the Units button on the side menu to change units.
