Plan Grid Example Feature of Plan Plus The Logic Group’s PLANPLUS 2002 program provides users with an efficient means to compute areas and volumes from contour maps. Once map contours have been defined, other information besides area and volume may be obtained from these maps. PLANPLUS 2002 provides users a quick means to interpolate data between contours. The most common application for these is to produce a matrix of values from a contour map to use as input into simulators.
Once contours are digitized into PLANPLUS 2002, grids can be digitized or defined through the keyboard. The figure below displays a map with a 20 x 20 grid placed over the map. The user can set the orientation of the grid. The grid can be rotated to correctly compute desired grid coordinates. Once the grid is defined, the value for each grid is computed and placed in an ASCII file. The file can easily be imported to other programs where values such as thickness are needed.
