Hydrocarbon Pore Volume Example The program can compute volumes from isopach maps (thickness), pore volume maps (thickness*porosity), and hydrocarbon pore volume (thickness*porosity*oil saturation). First click the Map Type button and choose Hydrocarbon Pore Volume.
When entering the map, use the appropriate phi-h-So identifiers for each contour. Instead of 0-10-20-30-40, the values might be 0, 1, 2, 3, … The areas computed will reflect the areas for the digitized contours, but the volumes will reflect not area times thickness by area time thickness times porosity times hydrocarbon saturation. When computing reserves, values for porosity and hydrocarbon saturation do not need to be re-entered.
Click Results to compute the map volumes.
