E-Write from West Enterprises Signature & Security Digitizing Software
If you receive a proposal or a contract or a lease electronically, you may want to mark it up and send it back. You do not want to re-type the document. You really want to be able to do with the electronic document the same things you used to do with paper. That is simply write on it and send it back. The West Enterprises products take advantage of high resolution writing tablet and pen hardware to give you the ability to write on electronic documents the way you have always written on paper. Many products today seem to offer similar capabilities, but there are some significant shortcomings of the other solutions. Most use "mouse" resolution input - this does not look like ink on paper. Most use standard file formats - these files are "huge" and not well suited to electronic transmission You can start using these products whether or not your company or associates are going paperless. If you can send an email to someone, then you can send them a marked up document. We currently offer three software products:
More about E-Write Contracts Proposals Emails Web pages Engineering drawings Any document that you can print, you can annotate The difference between E-Write and E-Write Pro is that E-Write Pro supports high resolution and large page size documents. E-Write Pro is targeted at the AutoCAD market. Using E-Write Pro, it is possible to mark up an AutoCAD drawing image and to send it electronically to recipients that don't have or know how to operate AutoCAD. No other software provides a royalty free distribution and viewing of AutoCAD drawing images. Both E-Write products convert the document to be marked-up into its own proprietary .ATD file format. There are several reasons and advantages for doing this: ATD files are special "hybrid" files that are extremely small and can be emailed efficiently. E-Write ATD files represent the document in black and white with colored "ink". They look just like a black and white document with mark-ups done in ink. Because they are proprietary, they can be "locked" so they can't be modified. For example, you could review a document, make your comments, sign it, and then lock t so no one could later alter it. E-Write introduced the unique concept of a "self-viewable" file. Because no software exists to view an ATD file, E-Write packages a small viewer application with the ATD file. When you email an ATD file, E-Write actually creates a self-extracting zip file that contains the small ATD file viewer and the ATD file. This actually opens up a whole other aspect and use for E-Write. This self-viewable file feature means that the person you send the mark-ups to doesn't have to have the Windows application that created the original electronic document. For example, you could mark up an AutoCad drawing and send it to someone who did not have AutoCad. They can view the document and print the document and email it to others. E-Write has been used by thousands of customers over the course of the last two years. It is a complete system containing all the pieces to make the system work simply and intuitively.
