Technical Support Wintab Drivers Numonics

The Logic Group digitizing software can be used with or without the windows wintab driver, other vender software will generally require the windows driver. The digitizer can be used connected to the computer with either the serial port or usb port (using a serial to usb adapter from radio shack). A digitizing tablet manual is not needed to use the digitizer but one is available for download from the www.gtcocalcomp website.

Installation using the wintab driver

Installation without the wintab driver:

1. Attach pointer to digitizer, attach serial cable to digitizer
serial port on computer, attach power supply.

2. If using the radio shack serial to usb adapter, install the
driver that came with the adapter and make sure the com port is
set between ports 1-4. Attach serial cable to adapter and adapter
to usb port in computer. To check or change the com port settings, click Start, Control Panel, System (If System icon not shown, click Switch to Classic View), Hardware tab, Device Manager Button, double click Ports, double click Radio Shack USB to Serial, Port Settings tab, Advanced, change the com port.

3.The numonics digitizer is preconfigured to be used with
The Logic Group software. The settings on the digitizer is Numonics
ascii output, 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit,
switch stream mode, increment size off, stream rate max, 1000
lpi, disable beeper, disable transmit out of prox, save application 1.

4. After installing our software, start the program, click digitize
new, click setup, tablet setup, change driver from Wintab any
manufacturer to "Generic Tablet Driver", choose com port, click
install, click show driver, make the following changes:

Baud rate 9600, Parity none, data bits 8, stop bits 1, all commands
blank, use any button to digitize, 18 number of bytes,

tablet resolution 1000, ascii output, no echo, x start 4,

x length 5, y start 12, y length 5, last byte LF.

5. click ok, click text xy, digitize a point on the digitizer,
result should be x=xxxxx, y=yyyyy. Enjoy.
